Quality assurance is an integral component of running a successful parking operation, as it ensures that the services you provide continue to meet and exceed customer expectations. Maintaining this reliability starts with examining whether your operation is up to functionality, accessibility and safety standards.

Partnering with a parking operator that provides regular quality assurance reports will ensure that your operations are running smoothly at all times, all while helping to mitigate potential liabilities from occurring on your property.

So, what is a quality assurance report?

A quality assurance report (QAR) examines all elements of your parking facility, including the condition of your parking infrastructure and devices, ensuring your facility meets safety standards. Quality assurance reports are essential to any successful parking management strategy, as they identify opportunities for improvement on both a business and customer level.

Quality assurance reports are not a one size fits and tend to vary depending on the organization and parking management strategy. Below are the steps that are often included in a standard report.

1. On-Site Safety Audit and Inspection

First and foremost, a thorough audit of the facility is conducted to determine if all devices are functioning, the facility is well maintained, and all safety standards are met. This will give the auditor a real-time look at whether the facility is providing a high standard of service, as well as pinpoint areas for improvement.

2. Recommendations and Solutions

Once a thorough on-site audit is conducted, the auditor will propose recommendations and solutions for improvement. This can include infrastructure changes, device maintenance, and additional safety practices.

3. Implementation of Approved Recommendations

You will then be allowed to approve all or some recommendations from your parking operator. From there, a strategic action plan will be devised to ensure all areas of concern are resolved, and recommendations are implemented.

4. Follow-Up Inspection

To ensure that your operation meets quality standards, your parking operator will provide follow-up inspections based on an approved timeline to verify all recommendations are in place and no new issues have arisen.

Parking operations that provide customers with a safe and reliable parking experience build loyalty and trust. Considering quality assurance when developing your parking management strategy will ensure that your operation meets only the highest standards regarding functionality, accessibility, and safety. Conducting regular quality assurance reports will not only ensure your operations are running smoothly but will also help you retain revenue by mitigating issues from taking place on your property.
